Dizzy Deaf Old Fart Music

Keith Lewis

Guitar player/singer

Keith Lewis is a lifelong musician.  Born in 1956, he got his first guitar at 10 years old and never put it down.  He was a singer and used guitar accompaniment, playing his first solo bar gigs at beach bars in 1974.  He continued playing solo performances in Florida beach bars for 6 years before relocating to Colorado.  Keith played a solo set at the 1978 Florida State Fair.

Keith continued his solo gigs in Colorado, but also hooked up with a number of musicians and built his first recording studio.  After a few years he was a “go to” guitar player.  If you had a sick band member he would sit in and fit well with material he’d never heard before.  He was the electric guitar player in a couple bands.  He also began playing blues harmonica and bass guitar.

About 1994 Keith started a collaboration with another musician for writing and recording music.  Together as “Lewis & Walker” they released 14 album sized CD projects, and wrote over 200 songs over almost 25 years.

Keith spent a couple decades as a computer and network consultant, focused on security.  He still kept playing, but did a lot of travel for the consulting work.

As the years progressed his guitar playing greatly improved, but his singing took a hit when he lost more than half his hearing to Meniere’s disease.  This was happening in 2011 and 2013.  By 2013 he required hearing aids in both ears at all times.  Keith wears a fedora when performing not just for the style, but the wide brim helps him hear himself and his guitar.

He still plays guitar daily, writing and recording, in spite of his severe loss of hearing.  Now he performs at assisted living facilities, pro bono.
